Healing is Holy Work

How do you feel about the statement that healing is holy work? I believe that healing is part of our purpose. God doesn’t rush our process, but He invites us to partner with Him in renewing both heart and body. See III John 2. That’s been a guiding verse for me for many years now.
What I’ve learned through studying trauma, grief, stress, overwhelm, and burnout is that healing isn’t just emotional or spiritual – it’s cellular. One of my favorite books on this topic is “The Body Keeps the Score” by Bessel van der Kolk, MD. (Click on the book title to see the book.) I’ve had this book for several years and only began studying it more recently, when I was going through a course to become a trauma-informed coach.
Unresolved stress, grief, and trauma can create inflammation in the brain and body. Many of us are walking around feeling inflamed, foggy, and exhausted, even if we’re doing all the right things. So, healing is holy work. These areas of our lives need to come into balance so we can be effective in walking out our purpose with clarity, energy, and without so much pain.
It is for these reasons that I started using a balancing oil that helps restore the body’s Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio, a key component in calming inflammation and restoring function to every cell. Every brain needs this support. Every grieving heart deserves it.
If you are in a season of healing or helping others through theirs, this may be a decisive next step. I was able to take a simple lab test right in my own home to determine my Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio. Let me tell you, my numbers were NOT within normal limits. I’m now taking a balancing oil daily (I’m taking a great tasting liquid), and when I start on my fifth month, the company will send me a FREE lab testing kit to see how my ratio has improved. This lab tests a whole panel of inflammation markers, not just your Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio.
I know that my years of burnout and overwhelm, and then adding on a massive trauma, have played havoc with my health, and I decided I do not want to live like that anymore. For me, healing IS holy work. Whether it’s healing from grief, trauma, illness, or burnout, this work draws us closer to Living Whole, and in doing so, closer to God. It’s not selfish or small. This is an act of restoration that allows us to live, love, and more fully embrace and walk in purpose.
